From the Principal & OLHMS Weekly

Welcome OLHMS Mustangs!

Dear OLHMS Families,

As your child progresses through middle school they will experience a multitude of new social and academic challenges.  Our goal is to partner with you through this next stage of your child’s development to ensure that they leave OLHMS with the skills necessary to position them for academic and personal success in high school and beyond.  At OLHMS we believe in the importance of family engagement, a curriculum focused on 21st Century Learning, and a team of educators committed to meeting the social emotional needs of adolescents.

Several steps have been taken to promote these collective goals for the 2016-17 school year, including the creation of a double block to support daily math instruction and the addition of a second set of Parent Teacher Conferences to enhance our home-school connections.  These initiatives compliment our existing focus on placing technology in the hands of every child on a daily basis so our students will be have the skills necessary to navigate the world in which they will learn, work, and grow.

We welcome family involvement and partnerships, and will continue to explore ways that we can collaborate with our community to enhance the educational experience for all of our students.  We look forward to a productive school year that is filled with dynamic learning opportunities for all of our students.

Sincerely,
Kristin Simpkins
